We humans have been creating beauty for as long as we've been around. What we now know as "creativity" began as a relationship rather than an activity. Art is the relic of connection- to our living world, to our own hearts, to each other.

...I grew up in a house full of hand made things. Eating, brushing teeth, vacuuming, watching TV, playing, all were accompanied by the created beauty of people known and unknown. These relationships forged in childhood inform my art making to this day.

There is a very clear function of two dimensional art that I seek to fulfill. That function is to keep company. To bring friendliness to the space where the dishes are washed and the emails are written. My work is meant to be used for refreshment, dreaming, remembering, companionship, inspiration... to have a beautiful thing on the journey.
